
The training to complete the RLSS UK National Vocational Beach Lifeguard Qualification (NVBLQ) and hold the knowledge and skills to become a beach lifeguard is at least 40 hours over at least 6 days. After completing the training, candidates must complete a theory exam on beach lifeguarding – knowledge and understanding, life support and first aid, plus a practical assessment in an ocean environment and pool skills.
