Are Trainer Assessors now supposed to teach everyone the head-to-toe (secondary survey) method due to ‘Exposure’ being added to the structured assessment?

No, depending on the RLSS UK qualification or award being delivered, this will be different.

For example, on an Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) course, the ‘E’ section of the sequence is very simple and involves having a ‘quick’ check for obvious injuries. Whereas, using the example of a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) or First Aid at Work (FAW) course, once the head-to-toe (secondary survey) has been taught and assessed, candidates can be advised that during the 'E' section of the Structured Assessment that they can complete a more detailed head-to-toe check because at this stage of the course, learners are more equipped to deal with conditions such as Stroke, Chest Injuries, Fractures etc.
