Within the treatment of anaphylaxis, the casualty should lie down, however, within the practical assessment, the criteria is for the casualty to sit up. Why is this?

Within the candidate manual, the treatment for anaphylaxis includes the following:

Within the treatment of anaphylaxis, the casualty should lie down, however, within the practical assessment, the criteria is for the casualty to sit up. Why is this?

The practical assessment requires the casualty to sit up; this is due to the scenario given with the Practical Assessment Guidance (contained within your Guidance and Syllabus).

As a reminder, whenever assessing the RLSS UK qualifications, you must ensure you have a copy of the Practical Assessment Guidance to ensure the assessment runs correctly.
